Telephone System Upgrade
We wish to inform patients that we are upgrading to a new telephone system week commencing 22nd April 2024.
Switchover is planned to take place on Thursday 25th April
We are advised that this will cause minimal disruption to our services.
The change will align us to NHS England’s Modern General Practice Access Model, which includes the adoption of cloud-based Digital Telephony.
If call queues are lengthy, patients will have the option to request a call back, whilst maintaining their place in the queue.
Furthermore, the new telephone system will enable us to analyse call trends which will provide better insights into patient demand and access that will help us plan and support improvements in the patient experience.
Thank you for your understanding during this time.

Vacancies

We are still recruiting for receptionists to expand our current team. If you are interested in applying please send in a CV to stanton.surgery@nhs.net

Medication collection

The Dispensary Team contact patients via email or text to inform them when their medication is ready for collection. We would appreciate if you could come and collect your medication as soon as you are able once the notification has been received. Our shelves are at capacity, and we require the space to continue preparing prescriptions. Thank you in advance for your assistance.

If you are not receiving medication collection notifications, and you would like to, then please e-mail stanton.dispensary@nhs.net or let a member of the dispensary team know, and they will sign you up for this service.

Flu & COVID vaccinations

IMPORTANT: We are now booking for flu and COVID vaccinations. If you are eligible, please contact the practice to book an appointment. The NHS.uk website has details of who is eligible for flu and eligible for COVID vaccines. Please book your appointment as soon as possible.

Millions of eligible people will be offered a COVID-19 and flu vaccine from 11 September, in line with the latest expert guidance on the new COVID-19 variant.
This change follows an announcement by the Department of Health and Social Care and the UK Health Security Agency on the risks presented by the new BA.2.86 variant.
Residents of older adult care homes and those most at risk including those who are immunosuppressed will receive their COVID-19 vaccine first.
Carers, pregnant women, and health and social care staff will all be among the groups to be offered a COVID-19 jab this winter, as well as adults aged 65 and over.
Wherever possible, vaccinations for flu and COVID-19 will still be offered at the same time.
If you receive an invite, please come forward to get your protection against COVID-19 and flu as soon as possible.
